Windows11 Home, Pro and Enterprise (64-bit) | February 2023 update |
Windows10 Home, Pro and Enterprise (64-bit) | February 2023 update |
Windows Server2022 standard and data center (64 bit) | February 2023 update |
Windows Server2019 Standard and Data Center (64-bit) | February 2023 update |
Windows Server2016 Standard and Data Center (64-bit) | February 2023 update |
Note:
- Past and future updates or service packs for these operating system versions are supported unless otherwise noted. The operating system version and updates must also be supported by the operating system vendor.
- The Desktop Experience option is required for all versions ofWindows Server.
Hardware Requirements
The minimum, recommended, and optimal requirements for executionArcGIS ProAre listed below.Minimum requirements support the application but may not result in good performance. The recommended requirements work well in most situations. The best performance is achieved with the optimal requirements.
Article | Supported and recommended |
---|---|
CPU | Minimum: 2 Kerne, simultanes Multithreading Simultaneous multithreading or hyperthreading of CPUs typically has two threads per core. A multi-threaded 2-core CPU has four threads available for processing, while a multi-threaded 6-core CPU has 12 threads available for processing. Full motion video has higher minimum and recommended CPU specifications. SeeIntroduction to full motion videofor details. |
Recommended: 4 cores | |
Optimal: 10 Core | |
platform | x64 |
storage | Minimum: 32 GB of free disk space |
Recommended: 32 GB or more free space on a Solid State Drive (SSD) | |
Random Access Memory (RAM | Minimum: 8 GB |
Recommended: 32GB | |
Optimal: 64 GB or more | |
Dedicated (not shared) graphics memory | Recommended: 4GB or more If you are using a notebook computer with an integrated GPU, consider increasing the system RAM to compensate for the use of shared memory. |
Visualization Cache | The temporary visualization cache can consume up to 32GB of disk space in the user-selected location, if available. By default, the visualization cache is written to the user profile\LocalSubfolders so it will not roam with the user profile if roaming profiles have been enabled by your system administrator. |
DirectX* | Minimum:DirectX11, feature level 11.0, shader model 5.0 |
OpenGL* | Minimum:OpenGL4.3 with the extensions ARB_clip_control and EXT_texture_compression_s3tc |
Recommended:OpenGL4.5 with the extensions ARB_shader_draw_parameters, EXT_swap_control, EXT_texture_compression_s3tc and EXT_texture_filter_anisotrop | |
screen resolution | Minimum size: 1024x768 |
Recommended: 1080p or higher |
Note:
Make sure you are using the latest driver available.
A processor that supports the AVX instruction set is requiredsome geoprocessing tools.
If you're using a GPU, make sure it's currently supported by the manufacturer.
Cloud storage services such asMicrosoft OneDriveAndGoogle Drive, are not supported unless otherwise noted in documentation for specific tools and features.learn more aboutArcGIS Proand cloud storage services.

General purpose computing on a GPU
Support for general purpose computing on a GPU (GPGPU) with CUDA is not required to run the software, but is required to run mostDeep Learning Functionality. GPGPU can also acceleratesome Spatial Analyst tools.
Article | Supported and recommended |
---|---|
GPU-Typ | NvidiaGPU with CUDA processing power 3.7 minimum; 6.1 or higher recommended. See the list ofCUDA enabled mapsto determine the computing power of a GPU, or see the CUDA Compute section of theSystem Requirements Checker. |
GPU driver | NvidiaGPU driver: Version 456.38 or later is required. |
Dedicated graphics memory | Minimum: 6 GB |
Recommended: 16GB or more | |
The memory requirements depend on the model architecture and the stack size used. |
Note:
An outdated GPU driver causes deep learning tools to fail with runtime errors indicating CUDA is not installed or an unsupported toolchain is present. Make sure you have current GPU drivers provided directly byNvidia.
software requirements
The following software must be installed before installationArcGIS Pro:
Software | Minimum requirements |
---|---|
Microsoft .NETWORK | Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0.5ora later patch release(6.0.6 etc.) with aWindowsx64 installer is required. The presence ofMicrosoft .NET Desktop Runtime7 or higher is irrelevant. |
licensing
Three license typesare availableArcGIS Pro 3.1.Depending on the type you use, you may need additional software or access to itArcGIS Online.
- Named User License—ArcGIS Prois licensed through an organizational accountArcGIS OnlineorArcGIS Enterprise. When the license expiresArcGIS Online(default option) no licensing software is required becauseArcGIS Onlineis a cloud-based service provided byEsri.
When the license expiresArcGIS Enterprise, usethe latest version of ArcGIS License Managerregardless ofArcGIS Enterpriseversion used.
- Concurrent-Use-Lizenz—The latest version of ArcGIS License Managerto manage is requiredArcGIS Pro 3.1licenses.
- Single Use License—No additional software is required for licensing.
SDK Requirements
The minimum requirements to build add-ins withArcGIS Pro-SDKare described in itthe SDKGitHubRepository.
virtualization
ArcGIS Prois supported in various on-premises and cloud environments as shown in the following tables.
In all environments, a GPU compatible with your virtualization platform is recommended for the best user experience.

Note:
- ArcGIS ProwithCitrix XenAppis strongly discouraged due to poorWindowsOS session allocation and GPU memory management.
- If you use App Layering to addArcGIS ProToCitrixXenDesktop or XenApp, the application may fail to start due to insufficient permissions on the Flexnet Licensing Service. To avoid an error, run a command line installation of the Flexnet Licensing Service with the parameterMODIFYFLEXDACL=TRUE, For example:msiexec /I "C:\Programme\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ArcGIS Licensing Service\ArcGISLS.msi" MODIFYFLEXDACL=TRUE.
ArcGIS Proprovides a nominal level of functionality and performance in the following environments:
- MicrosoftApp-V
- VMwareapp volume
